Geriatric Psychiatry Symposium and Geriatric Mental Health Education Series
From 2003 – 2019 The division sponsored an annual education event called the Geriatric Psychiatry Symposium focusing on interprofessional education.
Since 2020 it has moved to a virtual event titled Geriatric Mental Health Education Series. This education series is a free access event that supports the learning and development of healthcare providers seeking timely and relevant training related to supporting older adults with mental health needs. The backbone of this work is a strong committee that reflects community partners, such as Alzheimer's Society, South West Partners, Behavioral Support Ontario, McCormick Dementia Services, and Western University.
