Save the Date for Homecoming 2016

We look forward to welcoming you back to campus on Friday, September 30 - Sunday, October 2, as we unlock the past and focus on passion, purpose, professionalism and potential — key attributes that have driven Schulich Medicine & Dentistry alumni to success. A variety of events and activities will be taking place all weekend long, offering something for everyone.

Kick off your Homecoming Weekend on Friday with a cross-faculty panel discussion on the topic of Medical Assistance in Dying, featuring 2016 Alumni of Distinction Award recipient Dr. Jeff Blackmer, MD’95. Bringing together a cross section of individuals from various fields, this discussion offers an opportunity to gain insight and perspective from a Schulich Medicine alumnus who is leading the way through controversial legislation.

On Saturday morning, join your fellow alumni for a Community Lecture, followed by the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture that will feature the 2016 Dean’s Distinguished Lecturer Award Recipient Dr. Michael Myers, MD’66. Dr. Myers is a specialist in physician health and will present on the importance and impact of this multifaceted topic.

You will also have the opportunity to join the History of Medicine and Dentistry Walking tours or register for a tour of the newly established Dentistry Simulation Labs, featuring an enhanced teaching and learning environment and interactive technologies which allow students to practice and receive instant feedback on their clinical skills.

You are then are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch on Saturday afternoon, followed by the Western Mustangs Football Game. You can reconnect with classmates at the game by purchasing your tickets from the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry alumni block.

Saturday evening will begin with a celebration of our golden alumni at the Golden Alumni Reception prior to the Dean’s Gala at the London Convention Centre. This reception is an opportunity for alumni celebrating their 50+ reunions to reconnect.

All Dentistry alumni are welcome to celebrate the success and achievements of fellow alumni at the Dentistry Alumni Cocktail Party prior to the Gala.

Taking place as the finale to our Homecoming activities, the Dean’s Gala is a black-tie event with dinner, live music and dancing, at London Convention Centre. During the evening program, we will honour the recipients of our 2016 Schulich Medicine & Dentistry Alumni of Distinction Awards. Guests will be seated by class year, and for reunion years and tickets can be purchased at a special rate of $75/person.
