Where were you born and raised?
In London, Ontario born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days, chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool, and all shooting some b-ball outside of the school... (Reference to Fresh Prince)

What degrees do you have, and from what universities?
Bachelor of Medical Science, Western University
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), University of Queensland, Australia

What special interests or hobbies do you have?
I love playing fantasy hockey and football and participating in sports — soccer in particular. I also have an obsession with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Why did you choose to pursue your residency at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry?
There is a great atmosphere amongst the residents. We’re friends at work and outside the confines of the hospital. I also love London — it has been my home, and I want to raise my family here. Additionally, the research and academic excellence associated with Schulich Medicine & Dentistry speaks for itself.

What inspires you in your work?
In no particular order: my family, my colleagues (who are some of the most amazing people I have worked with), and of course the patients that put all of their trust in you.

What has been your greatest experience to date in your residency?
I have been part of the Code Blue team on numerous occasions, and nothing can compare to a successful resuscitation. I have had experiences where a patient has been without vital signs, and after a successful resuscitation they began having a conversation with me. It’s an experience that humbles any resident. It has provided me with an immense sense of satisfaction, as well as reflection on the fragility of life.

What do you do when you're not working?
My wife and I recently had a baby in May 2015, so he consumes the majority of my time. I also like to be around my family, watch Netflix marathons with my wife, and spend time with friends. I also love to travel, and I enjoy attending sporting events and dinner parties.
