Curriculum Renewal Launched

In September 2019, the incoming Doctor of Medicine class began their studies within a renewed curriculum. The changes to the curriculum support adaptive learning as the foundation to a competency-based medical education model. The goal is to create active learners through deeper integration and early-stage clinical decision making. Learners will be assessed for competency – not grades. The curriculum is being delivered through an outcomes-driven model with a vision to graduate competent, socially accountable physicians who can meet the vision of being clinicians, scholars and leaders ready to enter any residency program and serve the health care needs of Canada in the 21st century.
