Bio Sketch

Dr. Bateman completed a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy & Cell Biology at McGill University (2011) before completing medical school at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University (2015). She completed residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Western University (2020). Dr. Bateman completed a Master of Science in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto (2021).  Dr. Bateman is also certified by the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists and holds the designation of CSCN Diplomate (EMG) (2019). 

Dr. Bateman is a consultant physiatrist in the Acquired Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury rehabilitation programs at Parkwood Hospital, and an electromyography consultant in the EMG laboratory  and Peripheral Nerve Clinic at Parkwood Hospital.  She is the quality improvement lead for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the co-chair of the Quality Council at St. Joseph's Health Care London.

Research

Dr. Bateman’s research interests include quality improvement, best practice implementation, acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury.
