Approach

Epidemiological investigations can facilitate early disease detection and disease prevention. However, collaboration between clinicians and epidemiologists is necessary for the success of these investigations. We bring together an interdisciplinary team of clinical investigators, epidemiologists, analysts, and trainees to ensure that our research team has the expertise necessary to produce research outputs of the highest attainable quality.

The majority of our work is conducted in collaboration with scientists at ICES Western. For these projects, we use the administrative health data collected on the residents of Ontario to answer our research questions. The use of this data for research has many advantages including large sample sizes enabling the study of rare diseases and the ability to assess local patterns in the use of health services for neurological diseases.
