About the program


Our MD+ learning track lets you expand your perspective beyond clinical medicine. This flexible stream lets you explore course-based graduate degrees in fields like public and global health alongside your MD degree. You will be granted a leave of absence from the MD program to complete your graduate degree.

The 'MD+ award'

The MD+ award provides $10,000 to support your studies, along with access to other funding options.

*The MD+ program is best suited to course-based master’s degrees. Thesis-based options may take longer and delay your return to the MD program. Keep this in mind when choosing your path.

How to apply

Find the graduate program that fits

Before applying, take some time to explore the types of graduate programs that align with your career goals and fit with the MD+ timeline.

  1. Attend the MD+ information session to learn about program options.
  2. Meet with program administrator: Begin the application process.
  3. Meet with MD+ Chair: Discuss your interest. Explore potential graduate options.
Complete the application and submit a graduate program proposal by the first week of December.
Eligible candidates may be invited for an interview with the MD+ Committee.
Once approved, you'll take a leave of absence from the MD program to pursue your graduate program.

What it costs

Expenses usually include tuition, fees, housing, food, and many other necessities

The $10,000 MD+ award gives you flexibility when planning your graduate studies during the MD+ program track.
