Our six-year residency program begins each July, with one candidate selected each year.The residency offers extensive training in the art and science of oral and maxillofacial surgery, equipping you with advanced surgical techniques, clinical expertise, and a deep understanding of patient-centered care.

As a resident, you'll attend the MD program at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. An healthy portion of the program focuses on fostering innovation through research. You will design, conduct, and defend an original research project that explores advancements in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The experience will enhance your ability to integrate evidence-based practice into clinical care.

Requirements
- Citizenship/Residency: You must be a Canadian or permanent resident to be enrolled in this program.
- International applicants: If you graduated from a dental school outside Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand or Ireland, you must:
- Complete an Internationally Trained Dentist program from an accredited school in Canada (e.g.our Advanced Standing program)
- OR pass the Canadian National Dental Examining Board Certification (Learn more).
- Licensure eligibility: You must be eligible for licensure in dentistry in the province of Ontario.
