Thank You from Dr. John Yoo

dean

Thank you for your most recent donation. Your gift is supporting the ongoing needs of our students, faculty and researchers at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry during a year of great uncertainty.

"YOUR SUPPORT IS AT THE HEART OF THE SUCCESS OF OUR STUDENTS, RESEARCH TEAMS AND EDUCATION LEADERS. BECAUSE OF YOU, THEY ARE THRIVING AS WE MEET AND EXCEED THE NEEDS OF THE SCHOOL TODAY FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE. PLEASE KNOW THAT WE ARE TRULY GRATEFUL FOR YOUR COMMITMENT." — DR. JOHN YOO

I hope you understand the difference your support makes and how you are assisting faculty and learners to achieve their goals. With this in mind, we have put together a new report for you with some articles highlighting programs and projects your donations have supported.

You will have an opportunity to meet Dr. Trevor Thang and read about his education-focused research that is using virtual reality to engage students. Your generosity fuels this work and ensures that Dr. Thang has the equipment he needs. You will also meet a group of medical students who have established a mentorship program for young people in the community.

Your donations have also supported critical research equipment and student awards. Rachel Eddy, PhD’20, a young, outstanding researcher and alumnus was the recipient of one of those awards and she shares how your generosity provided support during a time of uncertainty like no other.

Despite the challenges of 2020, teams across the School have remained positive and optimistic about their work and our future. And as a result, we have ensured the success of our students, launched new education programs, established new student awards, experienced greater success with major research funding, and successfully completed several accreditation processes.

Thank you.

I hope you enjoy reading this report and feel proud of the difference you have made. I also invite you to visit our website often to read about the news at the School. And if you have any questions or ideas, please reach out. I also enjoy hearing from our alumni and donors.

Sincerely,
