Dr. Links graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Sciences in 1969 and an MD in 1973, both from the University of Alberta. He also received his Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 1988 from McMaster University. Dr. Links was the Deputy Chief of Psychiatry at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Ontario as well as Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He received the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention Research Award for outstanding contributions to the field of suicide research in Canada in 2009.
