We are celebrating the monthly achievements of our faculty, staff, trainees and students. This month, we would like to congratulate Dr. Taryn Taylor, Dr. Angelos Vilos and Mair Hughes.

Congratulations Dr. Taryn Taylor on being awarded Best Resident Paper at the International Conference on Residency Education, for her presentation titled "To stay or not to stay: A grounded theory study of the post-call behaviours and rationalizations of postgraduate medical trainees."

Dr. Taylor is a resident in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and the Clinician Investigator Program. Working with Drs. Jeff Nisker and Lorelei Lingard, she has conducted fascinating and significant work that has added to the current national and international conversations around duty hours for residents.

Dr. Angelos Vilos received the Dr. Marinko Biljan Memorial Award at the 59th annual CFAS meeting in Victoria, British Columbia.

The award is intended to recognize a reproductive endocrinologist who has made a distinguished contribution to clinical research, and is granted every second year. Dr. Vilos' work centered on a novel treatment of fibroids in women wishing to retain fertility.

Contributors to this project include Drs. George A Vilos, Jennifer Marks, Greg Garvin, Roman Kozak and Basim Abu Rafea.

Mair Hughes, administrative officer, Department of Pathology, was featured in the Canadian Institute of Management (CIM) winter newsletter. Hughes was honoured to received the CIM designation of Professional Manager.
