Announcement: Dr. Robert Stein appointed as Associate Dean, Learner Experience
Dr. Robert Stein
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Robert Stein has been appointed as Associate Dean, Learner Experience, at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, effective February 1, 2024, to January 31, 2029.
Dr. Stein received his BSc at McGill University in 1993 and his MDCM in 1997. He completed his general paediatric residency at the Montreal Children's Hospital and a three-year fellowship in paediatric endocrinology at the Hospital for Sick Children. In 2001, Dr. Stein became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in Paediatrics.
Dr. Stein joined the Children's Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre as a paediatric endocrinologist in 2003, and has been Division Head since 2015. He serves as Medical Director for Camp Discovery, a summer camp for children with Type 1 diabetes. Dr. Stein has served as the Assistant Dean, Learner Experience (Undergraduate Medicine) since 2016. Prior to joining the Learner Experience Office, he coordinated the Endocrinology and Metabolism course at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and served as the Chair of the Clerkship and Electives Committee.
In 2011, Dr. Stein received the Certificate of Merit from the Canadian Association for Medical Education (CAME). Dr. Stein was a recipient of the Regional Camp Award from the Canadian Diabetes Association in 2012. Additionally, he has consistently been a member of the University Students' Council Teaching Honour Roll. Dr. Stein was awarded the Douglas Bocking Award for excellence in medical teaching at the Schulich School of Medicine in 2020.
