Dr. Jack McLister begins term as President of the Ontario Dental Association

Dr. Jack McLister, DDS’75, a faculty member at Schulich Dentistry for close to four decades, is the new President of the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) for the 2016-17 year. The professional association represents more than 9,000 dentists in Ontario.

A member of the ODA for 41 years, Dr. McLister’s involvement in organized dentistry began immediately after graduating from Schulich Dentistry in 1975. He joined the London & District Dental Society (LDDS) and sat on several committees focused on community outreach, such as dental health education and patient medications. He also served two terms on the ODA Board of Directors.

Dr. McLister retired from the family practice he managed for 38 years, but remains devoted to the oral health of Ontarians and will continue to advocate for them in his role as ODA President.

"There are many issues that strike at the heart of all dentists; the big one is access to dental care," he said. "We are working with government to make sure public dental programs are funded sustainably and equitably so that timely, high-quality dental care is delivered to those who need it most."

Dr. McLister continues to teach and mentor students at Schulich Dentistry.
