Virginie Blanchette, PhD

Dr. Virginie Blanchette is the first podiatrist PhD in Québec and has been an associate professor in the podiatric medicine program at Université du Québec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR) since 2014. She holds a PhD in biomedical sciences from Université de Montréal, a doctorate in podiatric medicine (DPM), a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in medical biology from UQTR. She is a postdoctoral fellow in Dre France Légaré’s team at Université Laval (VITAM Research Centre) since June 2020. Dre Légaré is professor and chairholder of Canada Research Chair in Shared Decision Making and Knowledge Translation. Virginie Blanchette is working currently on patient and family engagement for “at-risk” diabetic foot complications. She is also working on a decision needs assessment for this health issue with a Patient-Oriented Research (POR). She is native from Saguenay-Lac-Jean positioning her with a great understanding about regional realities.
