Nolan Schaaf, RN, MHA (c)

Alberta Health Services (Alberta)
Nolan Schaaf is a Registered Nurse and has spent the majority of his career in roles focused on quality improvement, health system reform and team development. Nolan is currently the Director of Clinical and Quality Improvement with the Chinook Primary Care Network, and supports evaluation, QI and education for a network of Primary Care teams across Southern Alberta. Nolan is also currently pursuing a Masters of Health Administration through the Johnson Shoyama School of Public Policy at University of Regina, and anticipates completion in June 2022. Enrolled in the TUTOR-PHC in the “Decision-Maker” stream, Nolan is interested in opportunities to develop research derived from operational needs and issues at the local level. His project is intended to focus on transitions of care between primary care and acute care systems, and identify facilitators and barriers to implementing known best practices which have been continuously challenging, despite well established best practice principles being known for many years. Nolan is excited to build connections with leaders and researchers across Canada, to learn and exchange knowledge on implementation practices in diverse health system contexts.
