I am a registered nurse who has worked in emergency departments specializing in cardiology, as well as in remote and northern regions of Quebec. I completed both my bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing at the Université du Quebec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), at the Sept-Îles site. It was during my practice as an emergency nurse that I noticed a need for an offer of care and services for people who had suffered a myocardial iJennnfarction when they returned to the region after their cardiac dilation in a tertiary centre. I started my doctorate at the Université de Sherbrooke, at the Saguenay site in January 2020. Besides, I also teach in nursing sciences at UQAC and I am involved on various committees. My research interest relates to the development of a cardiac rehabilitation program in primary care for remote areas, for patients suffering from chronic illnesses including cardiovascular diseases. My wish is to promote the interprofessional practice of prevention and health promotion among primary care teams, more particularly between the family doctor and the nurse, so that people suffering from cardiovascular diseases have an adequate and adapted range of services to their needs in remote areas.
