Dr. Robert Zhong Department of Surgery Research Day 2026
The Dept of Surgery is hosting their annual research day on Wednesday June 17 2026, in the Darryl J. King Student Life Centre at King's University College, with the theme of quality improvement. Dr. Timothy Jackson, Provincial Surgical Quality Lead for the Ontario Surgical Quality Improvement Network and Associate Professor of Surgery, University of Toronto, will be the 2026 keynote speaker. Our MSc student, Isabel Kannampuzha, will be presenting a poster of her most recent experimental findings entitled, "Molecular Targets of Response to Radiotherapy and PLK4 inhibition in Triple Negative Breast Cancer".
Oncology Research & Education Day 2026
The 22nd Annual Oncology Research & Education Day will be hosted on Thursday June 18, 2026 at Western University's Ronald D. Schmeichel Building for Entrepreneuship and Innovation. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Peter J.H. Scott, PhD, presenting "Theranostics - New Developments in Precision Cancer Care that are Transforming Patient Prognosis". We are pleased to have both MSc student, Isabel Kannampuzha, and PhD candidate, Anayra Goncalves, presenting poster presentations. Ms. Goncalves will be presenting her most recent findings in a poster entitiled, "NF1-Ras/Raf/MEK Signaling is Associated With Immune Cell Infiltration in Locally Advanced Triple-Negative Breast Cancer" and Ms Kannampuzha will be presenting her poster, "Molecular Targets of Response to Radiotherapy and PLK4 inhibition in Triple Negative Breast Cancer".
