The Facts
- 52 bed, tertiary care centre
- Over 5000 births/year
- Approximately 800 NICU admissions/year
- 10% of admissions are transported from referring hospitals
- Average length of stay is 20 days
- Neonatal surgery is performed at Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, with the exception of cardiac and selected neurosurgical procedures
- 24-hour telephone consult services to physicians in Southwestern Ontario (via Criticall)
- Dedicated Paediatric Transport Team
The Team
The interdisciplinary team is comprised of Neonatologists, Clinical Fellows, Advanced Practice Nurses, Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Physiotherapists, Pharmacy Services, Dietitians, Lactation Consultants, Social Workers, Spiritual Care Services, Unit Clerks, paediatric and other off-service residents and trainees from each of the disciplines.
