Dr. Sidney Medine Essex County Medical Student Scholarship Fund
Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on Wednesday, November 4 2026.
This award will be distributed to MD students who are considering pursuing a career in medicine in Essex County after graduation. Interested students are asked to submit an online application which includes proof of: permanent residence in Essex County, Canadian Citizenship, enrollment in a medical school in Ontario, satisfactory academic standing as well as a statement outlining their intent to consider establishing a medical practice in Essex County for a minimum of two years following completion of medical education including residency(ies). Submissions must be received to the Undergraduate Medical Education Office by November 4 2026.
Please Note: If selected to move forward, the UME Office will reach out via email for proof of Canadian citizenship and Essex County residency.
Recipients will be selected by a board of Estate Trustees administered by the Royal Trust Corporation of Canada. Value: $15,000 to be shared among up to 5 scholarships. The amount of each individual scholarships will be decided on by the Board of Trustees.
For purposes of the scholarship Essex County includes the following municipalities located in southwestern Ontario: Windsor, Tecumseh, Lasalle, Lakeshore, Amherstburg, Essex, Kingsville and Leamington.
