Conditions of Appointment and Promotions Document: Steering Committee

Distributed Faculty

Recently, a Steering Committee has been created to review the current Conditions of Appointment: Physicians Appointed in Clinical Departments and Clinical Divisions of Basic Science Departments (1999 - Updated in 2002). With the launch of the new Schulich Strategic Plan "Optimizing Life-Long Health" at the September 16, 2011 Executive Committee of Schulich Council (ECSC), there is a desire and need to look at refining this document to ensure there are well defined processes across the entire School and distributed network. One part of this Committee's mandate is to suggest changes to the document which will better address the wide range of clinical faculty appointments and all conditions related to the academic appointments including promotion.

One of the mandates of this Steering committee is to look at our Distributed faculty to see how we can best address appointments and promotion.

Over the next couple of weeks Task Groups will be formed to discuss different aspects of the Conditions of Appointment Document, including documentation surrounding Promotion. In the meantime, the Steering Committee would suggest that our Limited Duties faculty (including Schulich Windsor, those within the SWOMEN area, and London) who are interested in becoming full time clinical academics begin to create and maintain a teaching dossier and Curriculum Vitae. The Continuing Professional Development office provides various resources on Creating a Teaching Dossier and if interested in more information, please contact Meghan Edmiston (meghan.edmiston@schulich.uwo.ca) or via phone at 519-661-2111 ext: 88929.
