Dr. Uriel Clemente is an academic endocrine and head and neck surgical oncologist with clinical expertise in thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and complex head and neck malignancies. He joined the Department of Surgery at Western University in 2025 and provides surgical care through London Health Sciences Centre.
Dr. Clemente completed his medical degree at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and trained in General Surgery at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition in Mexico City. He subsequently completed an Endocrine Surgery fellowship at the same institution, followed by a two-year fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the University of Manitoba. During this time, he pursued visiting clinical observerships in head and neck oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the National Cancer Institute in Milan.
In 2024, Dr. Clemente completed a clinical observership in Endocrine Surgery at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, expanding his perspective on endocrine surgical care across international systems. He previously held a research fellowship in Surgical Endocrinology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where his work focused on hereditary endocrine neoplasia syndromes and outcomes in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal disease.
Dr. Clemente holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration and is actively engaged in multidisciplinary cancer care and surgical education. His academic interests include minimally invasive endocrine surgery, management of hereditary tumor syndromes, and surgical strategies for head and neck melanoma.
