Dr. Balvardi is a colorectal surgeon with advanced expertise in robotic surgery for colorectal diseases. She completed her medical school and General Surgery residency at McGill University, where she also earned a Master of Science in Epidemiology. During her residency, Dr. Balvardi secured multiple national and international merit-based research grants, with her academic work focused on surgical outcomes, particularly the use of intraoperative recordings to evaluate and improve technical performance and operative quality.
Dr. Balvardi pursued fellowship training in colorectal surgery at AdventHealth Orlando, one of the highest-volume cancer and robotic surgery centers in the United States. Her clinical expertise includes robotic transabdominal and transanal approaches for rectal and colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, reoperative pelvic surgery, and pelvic floor disorders. She brings a strong commitment to surgical innovation and quality improvement, with a particular focus on the integration of robotic platforms in complex colorectal procedures. Dr. Balvardi is also actively involved in surgical education, with a continued interest in optimizing technical training and performance assessment in the operating room.
