Research Interests

Dr. Slessarev is a clinician-scientist with a focus on translational and clinical research. His overall interest is in understanding and preserving brain function during critical illness. 

His active projects examine the intersection of brain function with:

  1. Sedation practices in the ICU (SAVE-ICU RCT and sub studies)
  2. Deceased organ donation and novel tranplantation methods (NeuPaRT and ARP)
  3. Acute kidney injury and renal replacement therapies

He has supervised a number of trainees (medical students/residents/fellows) with projects related to his current interests listed above, as well as resident's own ideas.
