Examining the challenges and innovation in medical education

Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and Nanjing Medical University’s valued partnership has offered opportunities for continuing medical education through an annual joint symposium focusing on challenges and innovation in medical education.

In 2018, the Symposium was held in Nanjing China included leaders from the School, as well as experts and scholars from China, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Dr. Michael J. Strong, dean, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, presented the New Paradigm in Medical Education; Competency Based Medical Education and focused on the new evidence-informed model of medical education being introduced around the world.

Dr. Davy Cheng, vice dean, Faculty Affairs, joined Dr. Strong and also provided a detailed presentation highlighting some of the key achievements in the area of translational research. 

The Sixth Annual Joint Western University – Nanjing Medical University Symposium will take place in April 2019 at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, and will also focus on medical education.
