The Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs team works closely to ensure our graduate students and postdoctoral scholars receive the best training possible. Aside from helping prepare our students and scholars for a diverse range of careers, we also have a hand in facilitating social events to enhance their learning experience.
We are heavily involved in recruitment and the communications and marketing of graduate affairs for the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Working as a liaison between Schulich Medicine & Dentistry programs and the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, we are able to provide up-to-date information on scholarships and awards relevant for our students and scholars.
Here at Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, we also recognize the importance of mentorship and participation in workshops. Our team helps faciliate graduate student/post-doctoral mentorship, mentorship workshops, and career pathways workshops. We hope to help our students and scholars learn beyond their books and to make the connection between their research and careers outside of academia. We also coordinate graduate and postdoctoral affairs in all Canadian medical schools via the Association of Facilities of Medicine Canada (AFMC).
Aside from all the work we do in facilitating scholarly and social activities, we work to ensure our students and scholars have assistance when in need. We offer conflict and dispute resolution services, and well as wellness assistance. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have concerns that are outside your academics. We will do our best to help or direct you to the appropriate services.
