REMINDERS:

We’d like to remind our preceptors and residents to complete their One45 to-do items. If you’ve forgotten your One45 password, click “Need help logging in?” on log-in page and enter your UWO email address. Check your UWO email for password reset instructions. If you cannot remember your UWO email password, follow the following steps to reset your @uwo.ca password:

  1. Call Western Technology Services (WTS) Helpdesk at 1-519-661- 3800
  2. Select option 1 for Western Staff/Faculty support
  3. Select option 2 for Computer Accounts Office
  4. The WTS Computer Accounts staff will ask for your Western employee number, date of birth, last 4 numbers of your Social Insurance Number (SIN), and/or your home address to verify your identity. This is important because this login gives an individual access to your Human Resources data
  5. Please have a computer handy, as they will ask you to access the Western Identity Manager webpage and will walk you through the next steps.

If you have not done so, we would recommend forwarding your @uwo email account to one that you regularly use. The instructions for that are available here: https://wts.uwo.ca/office_365/email/email.html

Changes to Rotations / Absences: Please email us regarding any changes to rotations. If you are on unwell, you are required to report this leave to the FM Office (fmpgc@schulich.uwo.ca). Any questions you may have regarding leaves can be sent to the same email address.

Resident Wellness: The Family Medicine Postgraduate team encourages all to be aware of their role in supporting the health, mental health, and wellbeing of all those who are part of our Family Medicine program, especially given the pandemic and the option to participate in additional patient care above and beyond the training program. The Resident Wellness policy lists responsibilities of both Residents and Residency training program members: https://www.schulich.uwo.ca/familymedicine/postgraduate/current_residents/policies/assistance_for_residents_during_residency.html

2024 Resident Awards: If you wish to nominate yourself for any of the awards or to nominate another resident, please visit the website for details on eligibility and nomination requirements.  All nomination letters and forms (where necessary) must be received by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Indigenous Family Medicine Resident Scholarship:  A self-application process by residents directly to the CFPC/FAFM. Nominations must reach the CFPC National Office by 4:00 p.m. (ET) on June 14, 2024. Please visit their website for more information.

Completions: For residents completing the program in June 2024, keep in mind the requirements for completion of residency. To ensure there are no delays in receiving your family medicine certificate or CPSO license, please keep your one45 assessments, academic credits, field notes, and procedures up to date. For any overdue evaluations please contact your preceptors to request they complete them.

Resident Graduation:  Friday, June 21st at the Great Hall (Somerville House).  The Graduation dispatch was circulated on March 21st with a link to register for the special event.  We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments with you!

Registration: For residents continuing in the program past June 2024, it is extremely important that trainees follow-up regarding any requirements affecting their registration status. Emails will be sent by PGME and Medical Affairs to residents with outstanding requirements and due dates. If these deadlines are missed, residents will not be able to start their clinical work.
