Personal Biography
Originally from Germany, Silke is an occupational therapist who recently completed her doctorate at Western in Occupational Science. Silke’s research interests include ‘riskification’, or how social constructions of risk shape everyday activities. Using the case of the aging driver in Canada, her PhD research involved a governmentally-informed critical discourse analysis of information brochures for aging drivers. Silke is working with Dr. Lorelei Lingard and Dr. Stella Ng's research team, assisting with interviewing and field observations collected as part of Drs. Lingard and Ng’s CIHR project exploring integration of health professional knowledge and practice for children with disabilities and chronic health conditions.
