Biography: My research is focused on developing noninvasive optical technologies that can quantify key biomarkers of tissue health–tissue hematocrit content, blood flow, and oxygen metabolism–at the bedside. These techniques are based on time-resolved near-infrared spectroscopy, diffuse correlation spectroscopy, and hyperspectral continuous-wave spectroscopy. I am also developing 4D hyperspectral tomographic techniques for functional tissue imaging with applications in rheumatoid arthritis, breast cancer, and small animal imaging. Key to our success are the contributions of graduate and post-graduate trainees and we welcome you to send as an email if you think you can contribute to our efforts to bring these technologies to the bedside.

Research Areas: Time-resolved near-infrared spectroscopy, diffuse correlation spectroscopy and multichannel derivative-spectroscopy.
