Applications for Clerkship Awards (August-September)

The following Meds2027 Clerkship Awards are now available for nomination/application. 

Please read each application carefully as individual criteria and requirements vary for each award. Although award sums were confirmed at the time of posting, they are subject to change. 

Self-nominations are not permitted for any award that requires a nomination. In addition, students should not solicit other students or faculty for nominations.

Please Note:

  • This is a list of awards that require application submission by the August 31st deadline. For a complete list of available awards, please see the Registrar's website. 
  • Award funds are first applied to outstanding tuition, and credit balances/adjustments are sent out from the Registrar's Office.
  • Due to the high volume of applications, only those selected for an award will be notified via email in October

 

YEAR 3 (Clerkship) AWARDS

Robert K. Annett Memorial Award 

Awarded annually to a Doctor of Medicine (MD) student who, during clinical clerkship, has best demonstrated awareness and concern for co-workers, as well as empathy and compassion for the physical and emotional needs of patientsAn online nomination form must be submitted by 11:59pm on August 31st. The recipient will be selected by the Clerkship and Electives Committee, based on the nominations received from the class. Donated by the family and friends of Dr. Robert K. Annett in honour of his efforts to promote professional conduct of this kind.

Elena B. Wolf Memorial Awards

Awarded annually for essays in the field of cancer research or treatment submitted by students in clinical clerkship. Submissions will be adjudicated by the Department of Oncology of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. An online application must be submitted by 11:59pm on August 31st. In memory of Mrs. Elena B. Wolf.

Value: Number of awards will vary annually to a combined total of $800
