The Government of Ontario has established Procurement and Expenses Directives that govern financial practices for all Broader Public Sector (BPS) organizations like Western University. These directives apply to any individual submitting an expense claim to a BPS organization, and compliance with them is mandatory.

In alignment with these directives, the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry's Travel and Expense Policies provide a framework for reimbursement of reasonable business expenses while ensuring the effective use of public resources, transparency, and accountability.
