Paterson Lecture 2022

Join us for the Paterson Lecture Webinar on Thursday, November 10, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m., as Dr. Bruce Beutler discusses “Forward genetics in the mouse: automated meiotic mapping”.

Bruce Beutler, MD, discovered an important family of receptors that allow mammals to sense infections when they occur, triggering a powerful inflammatory response. His pioneering molecular and genetic studies of inflammation and innate immunity led to the discovery of tumor necrosis factor-alpha and toll-like receptor 4 as the prototypical receptor for bacterial lipopolysaccharide.

For this seminal work, he received the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, together with Jules A. Hoffmann. Please register to participate in a sure-to-be captivating Paterson Lecture.
