Announcement: Dr. Sonny Cejic and Amanda Terry, PhD, appointed interim Co-Directors of the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine

Dr. Stephen Wetmore, Chair of the Department of Family Medicine, is pleased to announce the interim directorship of the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine, (CSFM). Effective November 1, 2018 through to September 30, 2019, the interim Co-Directors of the CSFM will be Dr. Sonny Cejic and Amanda Terry, PhD.

This position will be shared by the two co-directors on an approximate 50 per cent basis. This unique partnership will help to stabilize the CSFM and allow for maintenance of workload and productivity during this transition period. During this time the CSFM will benefit from the experience and expertise of a basic scientist in a clinical department and a clinician with research experience as co-leaders.

Amanda Terry, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Her major teaching responsibilities are in the Master of Public Health Program and the Department of Family Medicine Graduate Studies Program. She has been with the Department since 2006, when she started as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the CSFM. She was first appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department in 2010.

Dr. Sonny Cejic is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, practicing at the Byron Family Medical Centre, where he is the Medical Director. Dr. Cejic first joined the Department of Family Medicine in 1992, and became Assistant Professor in 2001. He also serves as Chair of the Records and Quality Improvement committee in the Department.

Please join me in welcoming Amanda and Sonny to these important interim leadership roles.
