Obstetrical Skills Day

It was a full house for our third annual Obstetrical Skills Day. First year family medicine residents attended the workshop at the Western Centre for Public Health and Family Medicine.

A dedicated group of staff and faculty came together under the leadership of Dr. Laura Lyons to run the informative 1/2 day workshop with hands-on rotating work stations covering everything from the mechanics of a normal vaginal birth to diagnosing and treating a shoulder dystocia. The workshop involved low and high fidelity simulation models to teach residents the basics in providing intra-partum care to low risk patients.
