Primary Care Obstetrics Grand Rounds – An Amish Approach: Providing Culturally Competent Care
Please join us for Primary Care Obstetrics Grand Rounds on Thursday, March 9, 2023 to be held via Microsoft TEAMS (webinar) from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
Jessica Tarka RM, Department of Midwifery, London Health Sciences Centre and Jessica Riley RM, Department of Midwifery, London Health Sciences Centre, will present, "An Amish Approach: Providing Culturally Competent Care."
Session specific learning objectives:
- Discuss the Amish cultural approach to pregnancy and postpartum care and midwifery care in the local Amish community;
- Identify the considerations around counseling Amish clients/patients when making shared decisions; and
- Identify approaches to collaboration with other care providers to enable safe and competent, culturally sensitive care.
