Network Storage

There are three important user Network drives you are given access to when you log in to the VERC computers:

H: Drive

  • This drive is a personal drive with 2 Gigabytes of storage capacity.
  • It is accessible in the VERC and any other Western general computing lab (e.g. library workstations).
  • This drive is managed by Western ITS.

T: Drive

  • This is a shared drive - Everyone with access to the VERC has read/write and delete privileges to it. It is meant as a place to temporarily share files amongst VERC users, therefore this drive should not be used to store personal/private files.
  • This drive is only accessible in the VERC
  • The T: drive is often used by instructors to store data files related to course work.
  • The drive contents will be deleted on May 31 of each year.
  • This drive is managed by Schulich Information Services.

U: Drive

  • This drive is a personal drive with 100 Megabytes of storage capacity.
  • This drive is accessible only in the VERC (unlike the H drive) and is managed by Schulich Information Services. Please note these network drives are NOT backed up and are NOT accessible remotely. VERC users are strongly recommended to save any personal data on an encrypted removable USB device.
