Congratulations: Kevin Dueck and Tavis Apramian

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

Congratulations to Kevin Dueck, Meds 2016, and Tavis Apramian, MD/PhD Candidate, on their articles published in Literary Liniment, a medical humanities anthology through the American Medical Student Association (AMSA).

The anthology covers stories from medical students across North America that express feelings and thoughts about the process of becoming a physician, and how physicians are able to be storytellers in their day-to-day training and practice.

Dueck's article is titled "Gratitude" and discusses an unconventional thank you from a patient for a life-altering procedure.

In "Oncology Sleep," Apramian writes about shadowing an oncologist as he tells patients they are dying, and the realization that witnessing death is a learned skill.
