Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns and the ongoing challenges you are experiencing with HUGO. To those residents and students who responded to the PGE and UME surveys, a special thank you.
Your feedback through the surveys and your ongoing communication with our PGE, UME and LEW offices have helped to identify, more specifically, the issues you and your colleagues have been dealing with since the HUGO implementation at LHSC, St. Joseph's and regional hospitals in our DME network.
We understand HUGO is having an impact on your training and learning experience, and working with it is adding additional hours to your schedules. We also know there continue to be challenges in your day-to-day work as you interact with this new system.
Addressing your concerns is a priority for us, and the full leadership of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.
While the hospitals have instituted a process for reporting and resolving issues, we are taking additional steps to specifically address your concerns.
A working committee has been established with the purpose of prioritizing issues, and finding and expediting solutions to the problems you are encountering.
The committee, which includes membership from the London hospitals and Medical Affairs, representatives from LEW, our faculty, students and PARO, is focused and outcome oriented.
This committee will meet every other week and at the conclusion of each meeting you will be informed about the progress that has been made and the changes you can anticipate.
You will receive all this information by email, and UME students can also access information through the YouME Blog.
We encourage you to continue sending your concerns to our offices at:
Or the LEW office: firstname.lastname@example.org
We also encourage you to use the reporting system the hospital has established and send your questions or concerns to HUGO@lhsc.on.ca.
The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is well known for its exceptional education across all its education programs. We are committed to resolving the issues you are experiencing and delivering a positive training and learning experience. We want you to know that your learning experience is our priority.
We look forward to providing you with more updates in the next two weeks.
