Let's make our day harder is a movement proposed by Dr. Mike Evans, Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Public Health at the University of Toronto, staff physician at the St. Michael's Hospital, and Director of the Health Design Lab at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael's Hospital.
His video is a review of some of the science around how our typical days have shifted with technology and culture and the impact on our health.
According to Dr. Evans, U.S. Baby Boomers have more chronic disease, obesity, and lower self-rated health than members of the previous generation - even though we smoke less and work out more than them. Why? "Because we have a severe generational case of 'Sitting Disease.'"
"As technology becomes more ubiquitous, it can loot the medicine chest of our single best treatment for good health: being active."
In the video, Dr. Evans announces a call to action: to start a new movement. "An anti pushing the button so the door opens automatically for us movement."
