Update regarding labour disruption at Windsor University

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

We have been informed that the University of Windsor has ratified agreements with Unifor Locals 195 and 2458, avoiding additional/new disruptions in service. The University remains open and classes continue as scheduled.

Please note however, our professional staff remains on strike. This includes our education assistants, team leaders and program coordinators.

We are still operating with a reduced staff, and will do our best to meet your ongoing needs. Please contact Dr. Gerry Cooper, Nicole Sbrocca, Michelle Miglietta or Gia Abraham if you require any assistance. The administrative office phone number is 519.253.3000, ext. 1411.

We wanted to bring your attention to a few key dates that should be kept top of mind that impact you. Please be advised of the following important information:

  • ICE registration has not been altered - opened on the September 12 and closes on September 26
  • CaRMS - in Line registration is open from September 4 to November 22, 2013 and Commissioner of Oath authorization required on Proof of Canadian Citizenship Status can be completed in the main office. Please contact Nicole Sbrocca for this.
  • Letters of good standing can be received through the office. Please contact Nicole Sbrocca or Dr. Cooper.

We will continue be providing you with updates on the disruption through the University of Windsor website, click here.

We will also continue using the YouME Blog and the central Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry website for major updates.

We will be providing awareness about any new communication regarding the disruption with links through the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry Facebook Page and Twitter Account.

We encourage you to check the activity on these communication vehicles regularly for updates.

We are monitoring this situation very closely and will continue to provide you with direct updates as is necessary. In the meantime, please do take a few minutes to read through the information that has been posted.
