  1. Are 3rd and 4th year students eligible for SWORP?
No, SWORP is open only to current 1st and 2nd year students..

No, SWORP applications will only be accepted from medical students currently enrolled in Schulich.

  3. Can groups of students submit a SWORP application?
No, the program is not intended to fund group research projects. That said, it is possible for more than one student to share the funding associated with a research project under the direction of a single faculty mentor. Students are best advised to seek additional direction about this option.

  4. Will SWORP fund projects in Windsor?
Yes, SWORP has been created to fund projects that are based at the University of Windsor. SWORP projects must be supervised by a University of Windsor faculty member. Schulich faculty members located in Windsor, or elsewhere within Distributed Medical Education sites, are eligible to serve as co-supervisors.

SWORP projects supervised by a researcher from outside of the University of Windsor will not be accepted.

No, for each project funded through SWORP, a research account will be established at the University of Windsor in the name of the supervisor, all project related expenditures will be processed through this account. Standard Research Ethics, Animal Care, Bio-Safety and Responsible Conduct of Research requirements, procedures and policies for University of Windsor research accounts will apply.
Note, at the end of the project period any unspent funds will be returned to the Schulich Windsor office, and the University of Windsor offices proportionately in alignment with the funding that had been provided.

Periodically and contingent on supplementary funding, there may be additional research awards that are organized in tandem with SWORP. Students are best advised to seek additional direction about this option.
