Yes. Applications may be submitted by groups of 2 or 3 students.
Yes, SROP will fund projects that are based at Windsor-Schulich. SROP projects must be supervised by a Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry faculty member. Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry faculty members located in Windsor, or elsewhere within Distributed Medical Education sites, are eligible to serve as supervisors.
Will SROP support research projects in Toronto, Vancouver, or other sites outside Southwest Ontario?
SROP projects must be supervised by a Schulich Medicine & Dentistry faculty member. Projects supervised by a researcher from another institution will not be accepted.
Will SROP funds be provided directly to students? Will successful applicants receive a cheque for their award?
SROP provideds a stipend for one summer to medical students engaged in research. Students are paid at the end of June, July and August by cheque or direct deposit.
A faculty member may only serve as supervisor for one SROP project per competition.
We anticipate funding 8-10 awards for the 2021 SROP completition. Students and supervisors will be notified in March whether their application was successful for funding.
No, medical students cannot submit applications for both SROP and SRTP at the same time.
