Dr. Cindy Hutnik Award

Project Title: “Oropharyngeal Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma: The Experience of a Tertiary Care Centre in London, Ontario”

This award recognizes demonstrated excellence in the SRTP and promise in research. It is valued at $500.

Horace and Clarice Wankel Memorial Award for Cardiovascular Research

Neha Sharma
Supervisor: Dr. Neville Suskin
Project Title: “The Validity of Established PeakVO2 Predictions in a Cardiac Rehabilitation Population”

This award is given to a student demonstrating special interest in an area of research in cardiovascular diseases. The award is valued at $300.

Dr. L. DeWitt Wilcox Award

Jonathan Hu
Supervisors: Dr. Craig Campbell and Bekim Sadikovic, PhD
Project Title: "An expedition of the genetics and epigenetics of pediatric neuromuscular diseases”

This award is given to a student who has demonstrated initiative, drive, awareness of research and the ability to persevere in completing an SRTP project. This award is intended to support a research presentation at the Annual National Student Research Forum at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. This is the highest award given by SRTP and is valued at $1,600.

Dr. Glen S. Wither Award for Research

Supervisors: Dr. Mark Goldszmidt and Jacqueline Torti, PhD
Project Title: “Writing as thinking: Trainee composing practices and their implications for learning in clinical settings”

This award is given for outstanding participation in the SRTP. The award is valued at $1,000.
