Congratulations to all the graduating students of 2019. This significant milestone represents the culmination of all of your hard work and the commitment to excellence that is central to all programs at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry.
As you embark upon the next chapter of your career and life (wherever this may take you), I hope you will consider a few pieces of advice.
First and foremost, always choose a path that allows you to do something that you are passionate about, even if it seems like the more difficult path. If you love what you do, you will have a happy life.
Secondly, don’t underestimate the power of serendipity; sometimes amazing opportunities come up that may not be part of your “master plan” but if you are willing to stretch out of your comfort zone, great things can happen.
Finally, always remember that your most important legacy will be the impact you have on the world around you – I hope that you will use your considerable talents kindly, wisely, and for the greater good.
