Future Students

The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program is looking for tomorrow's aspiring leaders and change agents who want to shape public health. In this intensive 12-month program, students will be given the skills they need to take their careers to the next level and see their goals realized.

As a Master of Public Health student, you will learn from a diverse group of experts and peers through case-based and experiential learning. Opportunities such as field trips and 12-week practicum will give you valuable, real world experience.

If you are thinking of pursuing a Master’s degree it is important to know the differences between undergraduate and graduate school prior to applying.

How is Graduate School Different?

  1. Student assumes major responsibility for learning
  2. Focus on broader concepts rather than fine details
  3. Critical thinking and application, not memorization
  4. Understand the connection between theory and practice (theory informs practice; practice informs theory)
  5. Make evidence-based decisions
  6. Develop practical skills and competencies with long term understanding
  7. Become comfortable with uncertainty

The MPH Program has received accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health.
