Profile

Dr. Poolacherla is a Consultant Psychiatrist working at London Health Sciences Centre based at Victoria Hospital and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Western University. She is also the Quality Improvement (QI) Physician Lead for Psychiatry. Her area of practice involves Inpatient Psychiatry with focus on developmentally informed care for transitional age youth on the Adult Inpatient Mental Health Unit, Ambulatory care for youth transitioning from child mental health program to adult mental health program, community outreach service and Psychotherapy at LHSC.

Dr. Poolacherla completed her psychiatry residency and specialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry. She was awarded the membership and completion of specialist training certificate from the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK. Dr. Poolacherla holds a postgraduate degree in Psychological Medicine from the University of Cardiff, Wales.

She is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Dr. Poolacherla is the recipient of UGE MEDS 5207 Course Lecturer of the Year Award 2018-2019, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.
