Madhulika A. Gupta MD, MSc, Professor of Psychiatry, carries out the majority of her clinical, research and teaching activities from her community-based office in London, Ontario. Her clinical psychiatry practice is largely composed of referrals from primary care physicians and nurse practitioners in the community along with some referrals from local hospitals. Over the years Dr. Gupta has enjoyed working with complex psychiatric patients, mainly with PTSD, who often present with varied and multiple medical co-morbidities. Dr. Gupta’s research has focused on various aspects of psychosomatic medicine including somatic symptoms in PTSD, psychosomatic dermatology and sleep disorders. She has authored over 150 scientific papers in refereed journals and invited book chapters including chapters in major textbooks of psychosomatic medicine and consultation-liaison psychiatry. She is the primary or sole author in most of her publications. Dr. Gupta regularly presents her research at international scientific meetings.
