Profile
Dr. Ashley Malka obtained her medical degree at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Be'er Sheva, Israel, with an emphasis on Global Health. She went on to complete her residency training in psychiatry at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program, and then forensic psychiatry subspecialty training at the Yale University School of Medicine, Division of Law and Psychiatry.
Dr. Malka's primary interests within the field of psychiatry include trauma and dissociative disorders, their overlap with psychotic disorders, and the implications of that overlap in the legal system. Additionally, due in part to her unique experience with global medicine and her international education pathway, she has a particular interest in cross-cultural psychiatry and the psychiatric impact of forced displacement and migration. She has presented internationally and maintains Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry and in Forensic Psychiatry with ABPN.
