Dr. Joshua Gillis completed both his medical school and residency training in Plastic Surgery at Dalhousie University. He then went on to gain further specialization in hand, wrist and microsurgery through the orthopaedic Hand Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. There, he focused on traumatic and elective wrist surgery, brachial plexus and peripheral nerve surgery, vascularized bone flaps and wrist arthroscopy.

Dr. Gillis’ clinical and research interests include clinical outcomes surrounding upper extremity surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, targeted muscle reinnervation and reconstructive microsurgery.
ATTN: Dr. Gillis will be closing his practice effective September 30, 2021. Elective referrals will no longer be accepted and any referrals on their respective waitlists will be assessed and triaged to another practicing Roth McFarlane Hand & Upper Limb Centre surgeon. For current patients under active treatment, care will be continued with another Roth McFarlane Hand & Upper Limb Centre surgeon unless otherwise directed by the patient.
