Bio Sketch

Dr. Mumtaz Alam completed his medical education at King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan in 1991 and his MBA at the School of Business and Commerce, Islamabad, Pakistan in 1998. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Western University in 2012 and was awarded CCFP from the College of Family Physicians Canada. Dr. Alam has additional training in the care of Opioid Dependence Treatment, Primary Care Memory Clinic and Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University Medical School, Cardiff, Wales (2016).

He is currently an Adjunct Professor, Family Medicine, Western University and provides family medicine residents with exposure to full-service hospitalist work at Parkwood Hospital’s Hospitalist Program. There are three main units of rehabilitation which include stroke/spinal cord injury and acquired brain injury/and MSK. Dr. Alam is an integral member of the team, which includes a physiatrist, hospitalist, OT, PT, SW, dietician, pharmacist, psychologist and nursing staff.
