Point of Care Ultrasounds Workshop

The Paediatric Regional outreach program would like to invite you to our accredited and dynamic ultrasound.
This 4 hours in person hands on workshop will allow physicians and health disciplines to feel comfortable and proficient in the placement of an ultrasound guided peripheral IV.
You will learn directly from Dr. Jag Brar who is a leader in the use of Paediatric Point of Care Ultrasound and the lead of the Difficult Access Service at LHSC. Dr. Brar has provided this workshop to nurses and physicians at LHSC with great success.

Target Audience:

Community Paediatricians, Emergency Physicians, Nurses, Residents and Students

Learning Objectives:

  • Hands on workshop to learn ultrasound guided PIV insertion
  • Differentiate arteries vs veins
  • Improve initial IV inserstion attempts success
  • Improve IV catheter longevity
  • PICC Line Placement

 

Accreditation:

This activity is an Accredited Simulation Activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by Continuing Professional Development, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. You may claim a maximum of 3 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
